Stretch Arm Strong, Where It Ends
Sector 7G, Augusta, GA
2/11/2006
Reviewer: Drew Walton
There were quite a few bands playing this show, but I had no interest in seeing any of them except Stretch Arm Strong and Where It Ends. Where It Ends are friends of mine, good dudes, and a great band. I was excited to see Stretch Arm Strong for the first time and I came in with hopes that they would play some older stuff.

We arrived as Eulogy Records' DKLimb was finishing up their set. I chatted with Paul from Where It Ends for a little bit, and then they started to set up. Where It Ends is easily my favorite unsigned band. They're a heavy, straightedge hardcore band from Columbia, South Carolina, and have been together for a while now. This was the third or so time I've seen them and, as always, they put on a good show. Sector 7G is possibly the smallest venue in terms of width. This makes for great stage dives. Since Where It Ends are Augusta regulars and Columbia isn't far from Augusta, all the local kids were singing along and mic-crowding throughout the whole set. Seriously, I can't say enough about these guys. They're good dudes and a great band. I'm glad to be friends with them.

I picked up the new shirt design Where It Ends had and headed outside. Fallen From The Sky and Glass Bottom Boat played before Stretch Arm Strong’s set. I stood outside the whole time, talked with my friends, and got in on some of the video action that Where It Ends was filming for a video. The video will feature live footage from this show, another show, and some of the footage they were filming outside. Finally, it was time for Stretch.

Stretch Arm Strong took the stage. This was my first time seeing them and I was amped. Rituals of Life is one of my favorite albums and I was hoping to hear some tunes from that, as well as the song "For The Record," which comes from A Revolution Transmission. They played a few songs off of their newest effort, Free At Last, a song off of A Revolution Transmission, and several off of Rituals of Life. I was all over the microphone during the Rituals… songs, and all over the crowd during the rest. This venue is seriously about 12 feet wide, so I stage dove all night. To wrap things up, the band played their sing-along classic, "For The Record." This resulted in possibly the biggest pile-on/stage rush/sing-along I've ever seen. It was amazing.
