These Arms Are Snakes
Oxeneers or The Lion Sleeps When Its Antelope Go Home
Jade Tree Records

Any project featuring former members of Kill Sadie and the almighty Botch is going to emanate a buzz regardless of their musical style. While These Arms Are Snakes does just that, the band fortunately lives up to any hype established prior to the release of "Oxeneers or The Lion Sleeps When Its Antelope Go Home." With a Botch influence in tow, one might expect technically proficient and complex metal. These Arms Are Snakes, although still embracing musical prowess, is quite different and plays quirky indie rock with a variety of experimental tendencies. From electronic undertones to oddly timed rhythms, "Oxeneers or The Lion Sleeps..." is populated with innovative ideas and adventurous textures. Throughout it all, though, is a healthy supplement of catchy vocal hooks and driving rhythms that could convert less patient listeners. This is a creative, energetic and crafty effort -- all from a three-piece.
