Feature by guest contributor, Darrin - March, 2003

Milwaukee's Forever Is Forgotten is a technical metalcore band on the rise. With an independent EP and their Thorp Records debut full-length, "The Archicture Is Still Burning," now under their belts, these boys look to show just what kind of intensity can come from Wisconsin. Meaty breakdowns, technical guitar noodling and layers of vocals culminate to form expansive songs and plenty of room for experimentation. Volunteer interviewer Darrin helped us out with this one, so read on for more information.

Darrin: Ok, so how long have you guys been making music?
Chris: Well, with Justin and Jim it has been since 9-11-2001 and that is pretty much when we started to do stuff but we were around for like a year before that.

Darrin: Cool. What do you think of the Milwaukee scene?
Chris: The Milwaukee scene is doing really good. There are a lot of good bands out here to support, and the kids do a good job. Check out Since By Man, Love’s Despair, Misery Signals, Level Blessing, Jungle Rot, A Thought Upon Leaving , Die Alone and damn like a million more.

Darrin: I'll be sure to.

Darrin: I understand this was your first west coast tour?
Chris: Yeah, the tour we just went on was our first time out there.

Darrin: How did the crowds respond?
Chris: Well for the most part the kids seemed to dig it. We played with a lot of great bands.

Darrin: Fun. You guys are unsigned, right? Are any labels showing interest?
Chris: Yeah it was great times...yes we are currently unsigned and we are talking to a few labels.

Darrin: Cool, do you all have jobs besides the band?
Chris: Yup, Jim and Evan are in school too.

Darrin: Did they have to put that off to the side for the tour, then?
Chris: Well we went when they were on break... but Scott works in the IS department for a company, Evan works at Perkins as a cook and school, Jim washes dishes and school, Justin does tattoos, and I am a cable guy.

Darrin: Oh, ok. Haha, quite a diverse crew...so how is the writing going for the new full length? Any details to the process?
Chris: Well it is going really well, for the most part we get together and Justin and Evan throw riffs out and we try to keep up.

Darrin: Haha, I can imagine...do you write all the lyrics?
Chris: Yeah well we have all contributed in some way. Either one of us wrote the whole song, or we sat down and did it together.

Darrin: Do you think any of the songs off the EP will be crossing over to the full length?
Chris: Yeah it looks like they all will except for the 1st song. It was just an intro.

Darrin: Awesome. What's in your CD player right now?
Chris: Well I’m not listening to anything right now but in my truck I have Radio Head - "Kid A".

Darrin: Good album. Who would you say most influences the band?
Chris: Well we all listen to different music so it is hard to pinpoint just one influence, butwhat I like to think is that it is our interpretation of our favorite music.

Darrin: Haha, good answer!
Chris: Thanx.

Darrin: Well I think that's about it, thanks for your time! Anything else you would like to say?
Chris: Well to all the bands that are out there and just starting, always follow your dreams.
